More Ideas!

Okay, so I have a new plan!

I move into my new house on Thursday, July 2nd. That Saturday, the 4th of July, will be a day that we can play. However, Ryan Miller tells me that he will be unable to make it on that weekend, as he will be in Toronto.

I have a feeling that there will never be a weekend when we will have all Five players, so I propose a final solution! From now on, If we have 4/5 players, we continue to play as usual without the missing player. This way, we will make sure that the game progresses at a normal rate. If we have 3/5 players, we also still play, but we play something else, so that no one misses anything.

What does everyone think of this plan? Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Great News Everyone!

Is everyone available for next Saturday? Possibly? Good. I'd like to run the next session of Tram 9 on Saturday June 13th from 2pm to 8pm.

Let me know if you're free,

Cancellations

Tram 9 will be canceled for the week of May 31st - June 6th because we can't get more than three people on either the Sunday or the Friday. If we were able to get four players, we would go ahead, but three is the limit, so we'll reschedule to the following Saturday, June 13th.

Another Quick Update

R/L strikes again!

There is a birthday party scheduled on Saturday, June 6th that I forgot that myself and several others are going to, so we'll have to reschedule. If you are available for Friday, June 5th from 6-12 or on Sunday, June 7th from 4-10, let me know and I will have the game on the day when the most people are available. If we have less than 4 players available on either day, the game will be canceled. If rides out to Stittsville are a problem, I can probably fix that. I will attempt to secure a car for that day.

Let me know your status and I'll update everyone on the situation as soon as I can.

Thanks,

Character Generation for Tram 9

Character generation will work a bit differently for Tram 9.

It is a contemporary game in which you will be playing ordinary people. The only prep work that you will need to complete for Tram 9 will be the information contained on your driver's license and in your wallet, because your characters, having no memories, for all purposes have no backgrounds, and thus, you will not need to worry about this.

Your driver's license should include:
- Your full name
- Your address (you can be from anywhere in the world, as long as you can speak English)
- Your date of birth

Your wallet may also include things like pictures of your family (implies something about your background), credit cards, badges (maybe you are a police officer or an FBI agent), memberships (schools you are attending or teaching at, or clubs you are a part of).

Basically, your entire character will be built upon what is contained in your wallet, as you all start off with no memories and thus effectively have no background information to draw upon. Your stats (which we will determine before the game begins) will also be based upon the information contained within your wallet.

If you're feeling exceptionally crazy, or if it would suit your character better, or if you are just lazy and want to do no work before the game starts, your character may not be carrying a wallet, and thus you will start off as a completely blank slate.

In addition to this you'll need a brief physical description, including the clothes your character is currently wearing, as well as anything else your character might be carrying, such as a cell phone, car keys, or important documents. The more interesting things your character is carrying, or wearing, the more role-playing opportunities you will have.

Other than that, just be creative. When we meet up on Thursday night, we can better iron our character ideas, but we need to start playing by 7PM at the latest, so if you don't have a character built by then, we'll just improv it. After all, you do have no memory, how hard could it be?

Coming soon...

You wake up. Your body is slumped over cold metal bars and supported by seat covered in fake plastic vinyl. You have a headache that reminds you of a hangover, a pretty bad one. A taste like cold medicine is stuck in the back of your mouth. As you force your body into an upright position, your muscles sore from sleeping in such an uncomfortable position, you notice your location. You are on a subway car. The vehicle is not moving, and outside the window a small subway station is visible. There is no one standing there, and as you look around, you realize that there is no one inside the rail-car with you either. You are alone.

You try to determine the time, the day. It must be late for the subway to be completely abandoned. As the car remains stationary, you begin to think that maybe you've hit the end of the line. You fell asleep and the driver left perhaps. It must be the middle of the night and you got drunk in a strange city, and now you can't remember anything. A strange city, you think to yourself, where did that thought come from? Were you on a trip? That seems familiar to you, that feeling of being away from home in some kind of new place. You get that feeling again now as you come to another conclusion: You have no idea how you got here. As you try to recall the events that brought you up to this point in your life, grasping at memories and familiar feelings, places, you realize that you cannot think of any.

You sit down in an attempt to get your head straight. Your head is still aching. Despite this, you think harder, sifting through your memory for something, anything. any memories relating to this place, or how you got here. There are none. You don't know where you are, and as the cogs of your mind grind to a halt, you are temporarily stunned by the thought that maybe you don't know who you are either. There is no evidence in your mind of who you might be, where you might be, or how you feel about any of this. You feel empty, like something has been sucked from out of you. Your soul, maybe, if you believed in souls.

This makes no sense. It must be amnesia, you conclude, just like on TV. If you are lucky, it will just be temporary. Maybe in a few minutes, everything will be fine. You think maybe you smell something burning, and make a mental note that this is not a good sign. Your hands sink into your pockets, grasping at the contents for something, anything familiar. A cell phone and a wallet. The cell phone is dead, you notice, but the wallet is intact. You find your driver's license. Speaking the name printed there aloud, and are slightly disappointed when it is not as familiar sounding as you would have hoped. You find evidence of a person living in this wallet, a real person. Sadly, you cannot relate to this person. You have no idea who they are.

You need help. Someone around here probably knows you, or can at least help you explain to yourself what happened here. Why you woke up on a subway car in the middle of the night, where this headache is coming from, and why you can't remember anything. A concussion, maybe, your mind repeats.

You look around for help. There is no one else in your car, so you walk down the aisle and peer through the window to the next one. There are a few bodies there. You can't tell if they are dead, or just unconscious at first. The idea that you would first conclude that they were dead, and only later question whether they might be only unconscious scares you a little. In the back of the car, you see one person awake. They are holding something. It looks like a wallet. Then you watch as the same disbelief fills his face. You can see it plainly, as you felt it yourself only moments earlier. This man has no idea who he is either.
